Terms of Use — My AI friend

Effective: September 29, 2026 · Peter's Engineering, Poland · ceo@ptrs.ltd

These terms cover the My AI friend app and the desk companion firmware we publish. By ticking the box in the app you accept them. If you do not agree, please stop using the app and uninstall it. How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy.

1. What the app is

My AI friend is a voice companion: it talks with you, remembers what you tell it, reminds you of things and can drive a small desk device over Bluetooth. Its replies are written by a language model — in the cloud, by a provider you choose with your own API key, or on the phone itself. The app includes Cubes, a game that can also be played online, on our server.

2. AI answers can be wrong

Replies are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. The app is not a doctor, lawyer, financial adviser or emergency service. Do not base decisions about health, safety, money or the law on its answers, and in an emergency call your local emergency number.

3. Reminders, alarms and timers

Reminders and alarms depend on your phone: its battery settings, permissions, sound and the system Clock app. They can be late or missed. Do not make the app the only way you remember something important, such as medication.

4. Your API key and your provider

With a cloud brain you use your own key and accept your provider's terms and prices; any charges are between you and the provider. The key is kept encrypted on your phone and, if you turn on the Google Drive backup, inside that copy too. Keep the key to yourself and revoke it at the provider if you think it has leaked.

5. Backup

The backup to your Google Drive is optional. It lives in your account; we cannot see it or restore it for you. We work to keep it reliable but cannot promise that every copy can be restored.

6. Acceptable use

Use the app lawfully: not to harm, harass or deceive others or to produce illegal content, and with respect for the people whose information you share with it. Third-party services the app reaches on your behalf — AI providers, Google, weather, web search, radio stations, image sources — have their own terms, which apply to that use.

6a. Models and voices

The language model of the on-phone brain — Gemma 4 by Google — is provided under the Apache License 2.0. The English and Polish voice — Supertonic 3 by Supertone Inc. — is provided under the BigScience Open RAIL-M License of 18 August 2022; its Attachment A (“Use Restrictions”) forbids using this voice, among other things, to break the law, to harm minors, for disinformation, defamation or harassment, to impersonate another person without their consent, to give medical advice, or to pass machine-generated speech off as human. By accepting these terms you accept those restrictions too. The full text of both licences, and of every other one, is in the app: Settings → Documents → Licences.

6b. Online play

Cubes can be played online — in worlds on our server, with an open chat. There:

  • Not allowed: insulting, bullying or threatening anyone, stirring up hatred, sexual content, spam and advertising, and sharing personal information — your own or anyone else's (phone numbers, addresses, social media accounts). The same goes for nicknames. Playing with a modified app is not allowed either.
  • How we keep watch: every message is checked by an AI before anyone sees it; a player who breaks the rules is muted automatically; we ban by player number and IP address; the chat log and reports are read by the game's owner (Peter's Engineering), for moderation; we deal with reports ourselves.
  • The host's rights: the host of a world can send a player away and close the world.
  • Worlds: by creating a world on the server or moving your own world there, you allow us to store it and to show it to everyone who enters it. Forgotten worlds — ones nobody has entered for 30 days — are deleted.
  • No guarantees: the server may be unavailable, and we may change or close online play.

7. The device

The desk companion and its firmware are published for makers (the firmware under the MIT license). If you build or modify the device yourself, you do so at your own risk: follow the safety rules for the batteries and electronics you use.

8. Age

The app is not intended for children under 13. Online play in Cubes is for ages 13 and up.

9. No warranty; liability

The app is free and provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect damage or for loss of data, profits or opportunities connected with its use, except where the law does not allow such a limitation — in particular for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Changes and ending

We may update these terms; when a change is significant, the app will ask you to accept them again. We may also change or close the Cubes game server. You can stop using the app at any time: uninstalling it deletes its data from the phone, and the Drive copy can be deleted in Google Drive on the web (Settings → Manage apps → My AI friend → Options → Delete hidden app data).

11. Law and contact

These terms are governed by Polish law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live. Questions: ceo@ptrs.ltd.
